Agreements

There are 8 agreements in our classroom in order to have the best learning environment for every student.

1. We participate actively.
2. We listen to each other.
3. We are friendly and cooperate with others.
4. We speak in English as much as we can.
5. We have our study materials ready to use.
6. We are on time.
7. We keep away our cell phone, food and drinks (excl. plain water)
8. We take good care of our classroom and property.

Students are reminded of these agreements by signs above the whiteboard.

What happens if the agreements are followed?

First of all it means that you are able to learn in this classroom very well and that you also help others to learn, so that all of us could live a full life and achieve our dreams :)

It also means these things
1. Positive oral feedback and encouragement from the teacher
2. Positive written feedback in eSchool from classmates and the teacher
3. Phone call or e-mail of praise to parents and the class teacher

What happens if the agreements are not followed?

That means that you sabotage your own learning and future as well as that of others in the classroom, and that is very irresponsible behaviour.

As agreed with the students, these are the short-term consequences in the classroom to help you remind of that.

1. First warning: oral warning
2. Second warning: student's name is written on the board
3. Third warning: student's name is circled on the board, followed by personal talk with the teacher and a remark about student's behaviour in eSchool

If the student's behaviour reaches step 3 for three times:
4. Teacher's call to parents or a meeting with parents to discuss the agreements and the possible ways to make sure that the student is going to follow the agreements; class teacher is notified

If the student's behaviour reaches step 4 for three times:
5. Discussion with the head teacher and class teacher to reach new agreements with student

I as a teacher do my best for the learning of each of my students.
I expect you to do the same.
